Hi guys
New to the forum and dslr photography. I`m not new to imaging as I use a cooled ccd with my telescope for spectroscopy. Just playing around with the trial versions of most post processing apps out there but not quire sure what I`m after as yet as each one seems to have its own pro`s and con`s. Tried Nikon`s own Capture NX-D,Lightroom6,Dxo optics pro 10,Acdsee Ultimate 10,Photo Ninja,On1 photo 10. On1 photo Raw seems pretty cool but not due out until November I hear so might just hang on and try that. I was really surprised with how good the free NX-D from Nikon was but I`d like (I think) one app that can do it all if thats poss but love to hear comments from you experts out there. ;)
I don`t really want to go down the subscription route ie Photoshop at the moment.
thanks
Steve

Thanks for the warm welcome folks, appreciated :). I`m from North Yorks and just spent another hour with LR and quite impressed with it and a lot more user friendly than I initially thought. Mountains of Youtubes on it. All part of the fun :encouragement:

Welcome to the forum. Nikon's Capture NX-D is what I start with and then use a few other programs as needed ie GIMP, ON1 and Nik collection. Raw Therapee works, but has a deep learning curve which I am still slowly climbing the first little climb.

Sounds like you may have found what you need in LR, however. It's all fun and in some cases challenging, but hey that is part of the fun. Ha!
