Hello, everybody! I am Ric and I run a manual Nikkor repair blog at www.richardhaw.com. Some people may know me from FB and other photography related sites or may even be following my blog. If you do, please say hi :D I started this whole repair thing after getting scammed in auction sites multiple times. :hurt::hurt::hurt: I got tired and started fixing my lenses since I have some background tinkering stuff. Soon, my notes started to accumulate and I share them in my blog.

Thank you very much and I wish to become a productive member of this community! Ric.

Hi Ric, welcome to the forum.

I checked out your blog, very interesting work. I went through the 55mm macro page with interest.

I bought a Nikon AF55mm f2.8D about 5 years ago, it had sticky aperture blades when I got it. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into, but I started to pull it apart to see if I could do anything. I didn't go too far, only enough to expose the aperture blades and manually move them a few times. Whatever I did, it seems to have solved the problem, it has worked great ever since, and has become one of my favourite lenses.
I would love to strip it down fully and service it properly, but I am a bit daunted by whats inside, and my eyesight is not what it used to be.
