It's about time I said Hi

I've been lurking and posting a few pictures on here for a while, but it's about time I said hello properly!

I had a few SLRs in my younger years, a Praktica and Olympus OM10 I think - the years have not been kind to my memory or hairline. I sold my gear back then to fund essentials like houses, food and motorbikes, but always regretted it. I currently have a D610, which I love.

However, I'm really suffering a total inspiration loss at the moment. Sometimes we all (as in the missus and 3 kids) go out and I always take the camera, but more and mor often come back without any photos at all. And even going out on my own to find inspiration, but still coming back with nothing.

So, I read a few forums, like you do, but it's so nice here - the people here are nice and there's never and gear snobbery or the usual forum arguments, it really does feel quite special here. And it's so nice just to look through all your photos to learn and find the inspiration I'm looking for.

Right, gotta go - out for a walk with the family and hopefully take some photos!

Welcome and think of all of us on this site who will never get to tour Cambridge and shot some photos you think we might like to see.

Thanks for the welcome chaps. And some good suggestions too. 'Look for the light' is very true and struck me the other day wandering around with my camera - in the right light, the most mundane item can make fantastic subjects. And yes - it's never occurred to me to take any photos in around Cambridge (I live in a village about 10miles from town). I plan to make some early morning weekend visits before it gets too busy and with winter on the way might catch some good light in the early morning.
