Good Day,
My Name is Ian Wright, I am an above armature Photographer from the Green State of Vermont. I'm 32 years young and Married to My Amazing Wife Savannah Love who is also an Avid Photographer. She is a United States Service Member Currently Serving In the United States Army Stationed in South Korea.

I shoot with a Nikon D5100 with a variety of Glass, but i am a few Days away from getting my Nikon D800, Thanks to my Amazing Wife,

I have a Simple Facebook Photography Page at the moment.

A little history about me and my roots,
Photography for me is more than a hobby,
Its a Passion and a way of life,
Just like any "Career" Photography is something I live and breath. I cant help but look at everything all day in the perspective of a potential Picture, I see beauty where some people might not expect it to be found, I find that a fresh perspective on everyday things can produce a unique Photo Opportunity.
The thing I love about photography is that everyone loves a great picture. The memories, the experiences, the times spent with loved ones, Just like Music Photography can bring people together for a shared connection of the past. take the time to appreciate the beauty that is around you, Grab a Camera and go out and re see the world.

Photography itself stems deep into the roots of my Family and deeper into the Byron Genes, The Byron Company is a New York City photography studio in Manhattan that was founded in 1892. It is "one of New York's pre-eminent commercial photography studios" that "documented the essence of New York City life". Percy Byron, (my great grandfather) the son of the founder, was "the premier maritime photography of his generation". Joseph Byron (my great Great Grandfather) was born in London in 1847 to a commercial photographer, and he opened the Byron Company in Manhattan in 1892. He took on as his partner his son, Percy Claude Byron. "The Byron family came to New York from England in 1888. Once here, Joseph Byron began taking photos for newspapers and doing other freelance projects before opening his own studio in 1892. ... His son Percy became interested in ocean liners, cultivating the crews of the great ships the way his father had done with theater people, and was made the official photographer of the maiden voyage of the legendary Normandie in 1935. Several of his images are in the show."Since 1917 Percy specialized in maritime photography and lived on Staten Island. Byron died in 1923, and Percy died in 1959. In 1942 Percy closed the family studio because of World War II. He then went to work for the Essex Art Engraving Company of Newark, New Jersey until he retired in December of 1958 because of his ill health. The "Museum of the City of New York: Byron Company Collection On Line. This database contains digital images and descriptive information about individual works in the Byron Collection. The collection consists of over 24,000 photographs of New York City and its environs taken by the Byron Company between 1890 and 1942." These are the Genes I stem from and could not be more proud to come from a line of Photography Pioneers.

thanks for your time if you have read this, Ill see you all around the Site :)

Welcome
I too started with the D5100 (which i still have and use when I need a lighter camera)
And last year went for a D610 - a D800 was just a bit too much of a stretch for the wallet. And my wife was the one encouraging and supporting me too.

I'm sure you will love the D800 (but you will miss the swivel screen - that is such a neat feature).

Ah, maybe lost in translation somewhere. Let me explain, Ian Wright was a legendary striker in the 90's/00's for Arsenal Football Club. Anyway, i particularly like the Urbexing shots, i fancy doing something like that myself

Oh yes yes I got you, I'm familiar with him only a little. Thank you and Urbexing is super fun, we have a lot more places to go this summer in Connecticut, USA.
