Hello to everybody on this forum.I am a new with dsl photography, i recently bought a starter dsl: Nikon D5200, 18-140 mm.Love to peek through the lens to all that is beautiful.Hope we can help each other to learn the craft of photography.Wishlist: 35 or 50 mm prime lens.Do not know which one is better to buy first. I sometimes make close portrait photo's with children, but mostly i am outdoors in the city,want to use them for party when it is a little bit darker in our home or concerts....

Welcome to Nikonites.
Nice starter camera
To decide between 35mm or 50mm set your 18-140 on 35mm and shoot with it for a week (minimum) then change it to 50mm and shoot with it for a week. You'll find which one suits you best
