Just a quick hello, Just got myself a D3100 and a 50 mm f1.8 D AF lens. I am amazed at the image quality this camera produces. I have two leica cameras but the D3100 has become my favorite camera overnight. I may now sell them both and get some Nikon glass.

Hi Douglasco, and welcome to the Nikonites Community. A great place to be if you like talking photography and about using your Nikon. Sounds like you are catching the NAS disease (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome). A lot of people around here have it. There is no known cure. But alas we live with it, and of course buy more Nikon equipment. We have a number of D3100 users here. Our motto here is the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. So feel free to enjoy the site.

Curt I hate to say it but I think you are spot on, The 3100 was going to be my second camera but it is going to end up being my number one.
