Hi everyone. It's my first visit here after happening upon this site by accident, looks good and I can see myself popping by quite frequently.

I've had my D90 for around 14 months now and am still loving it. Just a quick hello on here to say hi from the rainy grey UK!

PS. I wish someone had told me that buying a D90 would start a lens/accessories upgrade obsession - I now have two vices, computers and cameras! :D

Hi Dave H and welcome to the Nikonites Community. Yes the disease you have caught is very contagious. It's called NAS (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome). A lot of folks around here have it. The more you get the more you want. There is no known cure (I don't know that anyone is looking for one.) You can help us help you if you will complete your profile with a little more information about yourself, we know you have the D90, your lenses and any other equipment you are using. We have a lot of friendly and Nikon knowledgable people who will respond to your posts and questions. You will also find it's a fun site so join us.

Welcome Dave, you can learn a lot from the many different members on this site.
The D90 is a great camera; I am assuming you have already made yourself very familiar
with it’s operation. Buying accessories (lenses, speedlights, etc.) is like tattoos; it's very hard to stop at one…lol.
But it's a lot of fun each time you get something that helps improve your skills.

Joseph, it was just a comparison…lol. I guess what I am saying is getting camera accessories is addictive J.
It seems you can not stop at just one lens.

Hey all - thanks for the messages. Nice to hear from you. Yeah, it's an addiction alright. I started with the basic kit lens, but now have another 3 lenses to compliment it, a few filters, tripod, bags etc. All good fun! I don't have a tattoo but a serious addiction to PC hardware is enough for me :) I'll get a few things on my profile and see if I can find a couple of pics to post. I can find my way around my camera now yeah, but it's still a learning experience. I've yet to do a HDR shot too! Everytime I read a forum post, see a cool photo or hear about a new technique it's back to the camera to have a play around. I notice you guys are all from over the pond, is this mostly US/Canada folks? (not that it matters one bit!)

Welcome, Dave, and no, we're not just from Canada and the US. We also have a lot of members from the UK and Australia. Because of the time difference, they're just not on here the same time we are. :)

Tattoos are optional. ;)

Hi, Dave! Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to seeing some of your pics . . . cameras and computers are not vices, they're just our toys LOL

Joseph, what tattoo are you getting?

Hi Dave welcome to the community where we all have the itch for photography and upgrades all the time. I am new to the board also and love these people to pieces, it is like family here do not be afraid to post your work and tell us a little more about your equipment. I shoot with a coolpix S6000 but in another week I will have the D3000 which my lovely husband too is upgrading to a new camera but that is a secret. I was not into photography that much, I love my coolpix but I bought it to take shots of the family and events. Now that I am getting a new camera I hope to be more creative. Welcome again :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and here's to a good weekend! I may see if I can get out and about with my camera over the next few days, if I do get any shots I'll pop back in to post them. What's everyone's plans for the weekend? Much going on? It's raining here (just for a change).

Hi Dave, I think an obsession with buying Nikon equipment is a good thing. I can think of many other addictions that are a lot harder on the pocket book. When my wife gives me the raised eyebrow "what have you bought now" I just say it's either the camera or high stakes gambling. Glad you're here.

Hey Bill, you're bang on there but it's a tough choice between Nikon kit or booze and pizza! I always work out a time-share arrangement :)
