Hi new member from Western NY

Hi everyone new member here from WNY. Always wanted to get into photography since everyone was taking photo class in high school. Never could afford it.

These days now that I am working full time and have some extra money in the budget I figured I would start learning better late than never.

I bought a Nikon D5200, with the 18-55mm kit lens, then from the recommendation of a friend picked up the Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.8G prime lens. I have so much to learn but have been reading the forum here non stop for a few days.

I do a lot of hiking so having the opportunity to take the camera and take pictures of interesting things I come across will be great.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72dpi

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Still learning the features of the camera and shooting with auto focus. But I have been happy with the shots so far.
