Might have messed up

I gave all of my Nikon 1 v1s , lenses, flash, and tripod to my wife's son Evan. But I forgot there are times I might want a pretty good camera that is less to risk in case of accident or other harmful risks to the camera. Now all I have are my D700 and D800E, that I wouldn't want to risk on say a fishing trip.

A water proof nikon would be ideal with the two lenses to go with, only I'm no longer able to considering purchasing one. Any ideas or options you think might still be workable?

Are you able to get those things back especially since he wanted some of your wife's belongings?

You can get a water proof bag for your cameras. Costs about $60 and would protect it from water and sand etc. I used one go shoot a couple of Color Runs and it worked out great. Another option would be to buy an older or lower grade camera like a D3200 for about $500 with 2 lenses. Last option would be to get something meant for ruggedness like a GoPro. I got one for beach trips and anywhere I'm going swimming etc. There are also other affordable waterproof cameras from Olympus and others that would take a beating and not be a big deal if they broke.

I'm sooooo sorry for the late reply buddy. Thank you for the great compliment my friend.

There are a couple reasons why I can't ask to borrow that kit. First is he and his wife live in another state. Second is part of the reason to use it instead of my fx cameras is the it would be a less costly loss, and I can't borrow something risking it when I can't replce it if I brake or lose it.

But thanks again for the awesome compliment buddy.:) @rocketman122

The option I see is that when you go fishing you go fishing and don't take any camera with you. Go out a few times and then decide if it is that risqué to take a good camera with you. There is only so much you can do in a boat as far as pictures are concerned. Doing 2 things at the same time sometimes takes out some pleasure from both activities. Again just my humble opinion.
