J2 v J1

So, my J1 has packed in and I'm not very hopeful about the prospects for it. I'm going to take it down to a local camera shop to see what can be done. It just doesn't power on at all now.

So I'm looking at getting the J2 instead. The J1 and J2 bodies are the same price from the site i buy from.

So, the question is, if my current J1 can't be fixed, should I go for another J1 or the J2?

Thanks

Craig.

I suggest getting a J5 instead. Much better IQ, focus is faster. J1 and J2 have the same sensors. J5 has got their latest CX sensor.

Agree with the recommendations on the J5 but if budget is an issue, the J4 is very nice too. (I've had both.)

I have 10-30 and 30-10 lenses for the J1, are they compatible with the J5? I'd just need the body of the J5 if they are compatible, so could maybe stretch to that.

Does the J5 take a SD or MicroSD? If it takes MicroSD i will go for a J2 as i'm not a fan of MicroSD and i've recently bought a 256GB SD card.

Hmm. It's left me with a lot of options. I don't know whether to bite the bullet and go for the J5 despite it's MicroSD use.... Hopefully my J1 can be repaired however.

I was not happy when I broke my J1, (fell out of my bag and onto the floor) I just got a second hand body for £50,

I got a refurbished J2 body for £50. Back to normal! Haven't really had a chance to take it out, but have been taking a few as and when needed.
