Best choice lens for macro

I’ve got a D3300 and a d5600 with several lenses, two if which are a 35mm 1.8 AFS and an 18-55 AFS, I’ve also got a set of 52 mm close up lenses +1,+2, and +3. Which combination of lenses and close up lenses would provide the optimum choice. The 18-55 mm lens would give the best magnification however the 35 mm would give a larger aperture for better dpof control.
What words advice can you offer? Thanx in advance.

I would just take a bunch of test shots. if you have a tripod, that would be great. Macro shots have a paper thin dof so I don't think the 1.8 on the 35 is an advantage. I think you will be wanting to tighten that aperture up quite a bit to get more in focus.

Try them all on any lens you have that's 52mm diameter. They're fun to play around with to get the creative juices flowing. Keep in mind that you are blocking light by having it, (them) in front of the lens so the filter'd kit lens would be best used with a flash or on a sunny day. The 35 is equal-ish on crop bodies to what the naked eye sees. That's where I would start with these filters to give you a solid understanding of what they do.
