Anyone using one? How bad is the vignetting and on what lens? DCR-150 or DCR-250?

I am thinking about trying one but have zero experience with them and don't know anyone who has actually used one.

Thanks in advance!

Do a search on Raynox DCR 250 on this forum. I have used it extensively and find it works very well. I used it on a 90mm Macro and a 50mm prime.

If you cannot find much I am willing to do another write up of the DCR250 on various lenses I have. Its been awhile since I have used it.

Thanks. I've found quite a bit actually! My eyes are getting tired from reading it all on my phone! Lol. I found a DCR-250 on CL for $25 so I told the guy I would get it after work. I'm planning to try it on both my 50mm and 85mm d lenses!

Yes, Raynox on both your 50 and 85 works fine. $25 is cheap and fast way to get into macro. The only thing left is to keep shooting. No amount of tools will help you if you didn't shoot. All the best.

Terrible day for macro, but I took a couple of shots of the seed pods on the tree out back. There is going to be a learning curve! I look forward to spending some sunny days with my raynox and a variety of lenses! One thing I found was that I need to make sure the clamp is centered on the lens. I had a few shots where it was visible on the left or right side of the frame. The shot below was with it on my 28-105mm 3.5-4.5 D lens.

i think the photo looks fine. subject is not too interesting and background a little distracting. good start and you are on your way.

In my opinion, it can take great macro picture. The only 'disadvantages' are having to go very close to the subject and dept of field if the subject is too big.

another happy Raynox user
also use extension tubes (Kenko's)
And even screw in magnification filters
sometimes on macro lenses

Have used tubes on a macro then added the Raynox 250. It can work but focusing gets to be tricky I find as you stack up more and more.
