Macro diffuser - what shape?

Hey guys I am after some input regarding diffuser shapes for macro, I have sourced the material which is light weight and a great diffuser but also quite sturdy.

Here is a design mock up that I did last night, I am going for max spread of light but also leaving a nice catch light in the eyes of bugs etc when needed. I am after designs that are small enough to go through bushes etc but still do a great job.

Does anyone here have a shape in mind that I could test out?

I don't know what would work best buddy! The oval shape you've used in the past seemed good, but this new shape looks like it aught to work well too!

@Bill16 this is a test shot on a dead cricket with above diffuser.

I think this design works quite well as it does get some light under the object as well removing some shadows.

Great shots Scott.
Looking at the exif data on the last lot of pictures in this and your other thread it seems that f/16 is the perfect aperture for better DoF or is that once again just your skill?
