Macro Mysteries to Solve

Don't think there is a thread like this. Idea is to post a macro of some something and see if folks can guess what it is.

Edited to Add: May or may not comment on each guess, but when someone guesses correctly, I'll acknowledge the mystery is solved.

Edited to add the game plan:

1. Macro shots of fairly common objects.

2. Person who guesses correct gets to post the next Macro Mystery.

3. If unsolved for 24 hours, reveal the mystery. The next mystery can then be posted by anyone.

This first one should not be too hard.

Nope but I expected that answer. ;)

Maybe we should also restrict it to "known" or familiar objects. Otherwise it'd be close to impossible.

I was thinking solve one before posting the next to keep it simple and not need to quote. But we could do multiple without quotes by calling the post # like, "I guess #6 is a spiny potato".

Maybe it's too hard or maybe mysteries are passé.

Let's reveal it and give another a shot at it. Here's a full shot.

It's what happens when facehugger impregnates a porcupine. ;)

In case someone is unfamiliar with it, add a chestnut to that wrapping.

I've done these things before, and usually the person who guesses correctly is the one to post the next "what am I". It seems to save a lot of confusion as there is only one mystery object q/a happening at one time :)

That makes sense. I added a note to this on the OP.

Maybe limit the time one stays up unsolved before it is revealed???

Since we did not solve J-see 's and @Brazeal guessed the first one, @Brazeal can post the next if they have one.
