Well I decided to try my hand at focus stacking as I wanted this moths front and rear eyes in focus. This is handheld from two shots, I could have done with a third middle one as its a bit soft there. But this is my very first try.


These are the unedited ones.

I've been frustrated by DoF in macro photography and after seeing DaveW post about it your posts now have me convinced that I need to be less lazy with my macro photography and bring out the tripod and get it done correctly. Thanks for the kick in the butt. :)

No need for a tripod just a steady hand ;)

Scott, if you're using a tripod, try more images. That upload of the red Gerbera had over 30 layers. Cheers, Brad :)
