Hello Everyone,

I am new to nikonites, actually this is my first photography forum and i hope i will get good guidance and support from all the pro's

I recently started photography and now i am getting work from NightClubs, I have few gears as bellow and facing lots of issue while shooting in night club with low light

Body:
Nikon D5100

Lens:
18-55 Kit Lens
Tamron 70-300 VR
Nikkor 50mm 1.8D

Flash:
Camera Flash (as of now i cant afford any extra flash)

While shooting I am not getting proper photos, at times it gets very blury and at times lots of noise in the pictures, when i use 50mm 1.8D i cant focus on the subject due to low light and if i put flash on i am not getting ambiance light.

Please let me know what best settings i should use also under camera flash what changes i have to do.

Admin if this post is not under correct group then please move it to proper group.

waiting for your responses

Regards,
feel3sam

Hello, feel3sam, and welcome to the forum.

What exactly are you shooting in a nightclub? And who is the client? It would help if you posted a photo with exif data.

If you're getting blur, it's likely that the flash is syncing at a slow shutter speed, or without flash, shutter speed is too slow. The noise in the picture is due to high iso.

You would probably get best results with your 50mm 1.8 and focus manually.

The pop-up flash is probably not generating enough output. It all depends on your settings . . . again, need exif data. You can get more ambient light by slowing down the shutter speed, but then you risk slow-sync blur.

There is no easy answer. You definitely need to know enough about your camera to override the automatic settings.

Post some pics with exif data and we can help you a little more.

Post some images with exif data...If you are shooting in auto your camera is bumping the ISO up to try and get faster shutter speeds...You probably need to shoot in manual mode at Aperture F2.8 and a shutter speed of 1/150th of a sec with your ISO set so you can get that shutter speed...
