Supermoon Eclipse

I've been thinking the same thing. Figured I'd try the 50mm 1.8 and maybe stitch a bunch together as it eclipses. Only problem now is the long range forecast is for Clouds and rain on Sunday. You might try going out on Saturday and take sample shots at different exposures and with different lenses to see what works best.

This is coming up on Sunday, my current gear is a Nikon D7200 with just 2 lenses: (1) Nikon AF-S 80-400MM F/4.5-5.6G ED VR and (2) Nikkor 50mm AF f/1.8D. Looking for help on settings to try and do sometime of photography with the moon this weekend provided theres no clouds of course :)

Where to see Sunday?s rare ?Supermoon Eclipse? over Toronto | Toronto Star

The "moon rule of thumb" is similar to the "Bright Sunny Day rule", only it is 1/ASA @ f/11 instead of f/16. However, during the eclipse, the light on the moon will be diminished so I would open up another stop or two. Bracketing is the key!
