Well I am back from Vietnam and the first thing I do is set up my telescope that I just got. Hopefully I will get some time to play in the near future.

I'm glad you can now answer a few questions for us! Cheese, man on the moon, green martians (or any color will do). Try to find a flag on the moon, I'd like that whole conspiracy theory put to rest :).

Not that it really means much to me at this point but what sort of magnification do you get with that telescope? Can't wait to see the moon up close :D

Congrats Scott.
I have a Celestron scope as well, but seem to have lost all accessories & everything apart from the scope & the tripod..
They don't seem to stock on spare parts here...
Good luck & i will join you sooner or later ;)

I haven't got her going yet mate, but tonight I may have a play.

Focal length is 1325 so not huge by any means.

He only wants it for the bedroom windows across town :D

haha funny man

Congratulations Scott, you will have a great time using that - I used to have a 130 SLT Celestron. One warning, from my experience - When you are supposed to be at work in the morning, and it starts getting light, then it's time to pack up for the night!

She showed me her box one time while on liberty in Germany, but I had to pass. No telling where that box had been! :)

hey scott attached are some of my newer shots..best of luck/clear skies and holler if i can help

Cheers mate I am hoping to get out next week and do some testing, I do know that a dslr with battery pack is way to heavy for the motor so I may need to use my D600 only, or D800e but even then she struggles.

hi scott, a dslr may be too heavy. i'm unsure if you can add counter weight to an alt/az mount...say maybe on the front of the scope?if anyones interested i can throw videos on here too.you could prob do a piggyback mount on ur scope.
