Nice! Now I'm looking at my converted D600 and 500mm reflex lens. Something I had not tried before!

Well here is my try in infrared. D600 converted, a very old 500mm Nikkor reflex lens and a cheap 2x teleconverter. The reflex lens historically gives soft images but I had it in mind it may not try to bend that infrared light farther than it wants to go. It was still soft. About 12 images were stacked to make this, would have been more but my battery died in the cold.

Because moon shots, even with 500mm and 2X converters are relatively "small"... and the D600 at 24M... I'd increase the resolution of the RAW file with either Adobe's Enhance feature just a tad, or Topaz's Gigapixel... I usually shoot the moon with a D810 and 500mm at 36M...
