Thank you. I'm trying figure out how to improve the dip in the middle of the panorama. The surface of the lake needs to be leveled out. Any tips?

Nice picture.

Though, I don't think it's the only man made object that can be seen from space...
Cities are man made, and can be seen from space, as can the Great Wall of China :)

I have not worked on panos yet so no advice. As far as a tip, you'll have to be content with a compliment :)

There's no comparison to Lake Okeechobee.

And, now I'm told it's not even man-made! Now I wish I hadn't even gone there to take the photos. What's this world coming to? :nonchalance:

Nice Shot Ted. I wonder if you can see space from Lake Okechobee?

I think most of the curve is caused by using too short a lens..... Try using a longer lens and take several overlapping shots. then stitch them together.

Thank you. I shot that series at 24mm (4 shots). I could have used 120mm. So, if I understand, I should have taken more shots with more zoom. Right?

I know you've seen how fisheyes create curves. Short lenses do also, but not to that degree. Stitching them together magnifies the effect. Try the 120... or even a 50 if you have it. Most of ones I have done are shot with my zoom lens between 55 and 100mm. What I always forget to do is turn the camera to portrate orientation. Because of that my shots always look very long and very short.

Mankind is lame...there is a beaver dam in Canada that you can see from space! Plus I think the Chinese beat the Americans on this one ;)

add more water or offer the carolina photo guy some cheese, that should get the dip out of the lake. :) or just go reshoot it and hope the clouds come back. Like the edit on the 2nd shot.
