Angel Oak Tree, St. Johns, SC

I want to St. John's Island (near Charleston) and photographed the Angel Oak Tree. It is a 400-500 year old Southern Live Oak that is 68 feet high, 28 feet in circumference at the base and has a canopy shadow area of 17,000 square feet. It is an AMAZING tree!

I wanted the pictures to appear as natural as possible, so I had to clone/fill out lots of people, telephone poles (to hold up some of the larger branches), guy wires and yellow posts and chain around the base of the tree.

And a "Nightmare on Oak Street" view with the 8mm Fisheye

Interesting tree.

Have Photoshop? To remove anything that moves.

Step 1: Set your camera on a tripod.
Step 2: Take a picture about every 10 seconds until you have about 15 shots, depending on how fast people are walking around.
Step 3: Open all the images in Photoshop by going to File > Scripts > Statistics. Choose “median” and select the files you took.
Step 4: Bam! Photoshop finds what is different in the photos and simply removes it! Since the people moved around, it fills the area where someone was standing with part of another photo where no one was there.
Don't know how well it works don't have Photoshop.

Yup, I have used that before, but there was a "no-tripod rule there", which I find to just be plain stupid, and it would still not remove the yellow posts, chain, telephone poles and plaques.

Went to one place "No Cameras Allowed" and others want you to pay a fee. So how is that d750 working out? A suitable replacement for the 700?

I am quite happy with it, the framing rate is a little slow compared to the D500 and D850 with the D-5 battery in the grip, but I use CH infrequently, nor do I have the need to use 1/8000 sec except very rarely. It is a great back-up body for the D850.. I just got the microprism/split image focusing screen in the mail today. It took less than a minute to install and it is dead bang on. The flip up LCD protector also showed up today (an early Photography Christmas!) which protects the LCD but the top flips up and has louvers on the side.

Curious does the split screen allow you to autofocus if you want?
