Even if you really don't know why. The corn is growing right up to this old barn. From the road it looks like the roof and part of the barn are "floating" on a sea of corn stalks. Shot with the D300 and my 300mm f/2.8 ED-IF Nikkor

Love the composition.

It is classic rule of thirds. The tops of the corn stalks are on the lower third and the peak of the barn roof is on the left third. It is never a "cast in stone" rule, but using it as much as possible will usually improve composition measurably.
