Seriously, we had walked all over London by the time we reach Edinburgh and my feet and legs were pretty much gone. I had no idea I was in for all those stairs!

I loved the castle. The Royal Mile was OK but touristy. I wish we had had more time to explore New Town.

Edinburgh is my favorite city to visit. Definitely a lot of photo ops. Did you have a car while you were there or did you just rely on your feet and public transportation?

We were only there for a day and a half so our "feet was our only carriage" (to quote Bob Marley). We had rented a car in London and drove to the Lake District and then to Edinburgh but left the car at the airport. I had read where you really don't want to drive in Edinburgh if you aren't familiar with it.

Yes, it can be exciting. I drove there the last time I was there but most of the time I had my sister that lives in Ireland with me so she could stop me from doing anything really stupid. I have a lot of pictures of Edinburgh but can't post them since I was using Olympus gear at the time.
