Nice! Did the railroad paint the car, or was it Graffiti? I am thinking because of the bright yellow boxes containing information, it is a official railroad paint job.

It's graffiti. The vandals that do this know that if they paint over the reporting marks, their "artistry" will be quickly painted over by the railroad. Despite modern car location technology (lineside Automatic Equipment Identification scanners), reporting marks are still vital in keeping tabs on the 1.6 Million freight cars in North America.

Two shots taken yesterday, the first at Clemson, SC of NS 265 with the Virginian heritage unit lending a hand and the second near Jarrett, GA on the Tugaloo River bridge at the GA/SC state line. I tried in vain for this shot many times in the late '80s, and finally hit paydirt yesterday after a 30 year hiatus. It's in fading light, but I finally came away with something.

I didn't want to post this shot in the Birds In Flight thread, because he was just sitting there trackside like I was.

Stopped at Fairforest, SC just missing seeing a train, but a look at the signals indicated more action was to come. In fact, three more moves followed in twenty minutes.

    A westbound stacker:

Thank you. This has become a favorite spot. It's just off I-26 and it's safe, open and the signal allows some clairvoyance of train activity.
