Wonder if Nikon will follow suit

Since Nikon announced it won't be releasing any new DSLR bodies, hopefully they will take notice of Sony's advancements in the mirrorless market. I had no idea Sony used a focal plane shutter as well as had the ability to shoot 30 fps with 50 megapixel files.

I think you will more likely see the Z9's fully electronic shutter to trickle down to the lesser Z bodies. That is something Nikon is leading the market in right now.
