New Dawg in da house!

I haven't renamed her yet. Right now, she is 'New Dawg.'
Hound mix of some kind. About 2 years and about 47 pounds according to the shelter. Still, very much a puppy in behavior. Knows some commands and mostly house-trained, fixed and microchipped. Very sweet and usually right next to me. Got her yesterday.

She is a moderate handful thanks to slight jumping behavior and counter surfing. She drank some of my coffee this morning. We think she is easily trainable. I am throwing some treats randomly into a crate to get her used to going in one. We'll see how it goes. She has only been here a day, and she whines if I go out the front door. I have had other dogs do that, and they eventually quit. Fingers crossed.

Congratulations on your new house companion. She is young enough you should be able to train her. Meanwhile, she is none nice looking Dawg! :cheerful:

Thanks, everybody. She is a pretty dawg.
Not sure why she was being bypassed by most people at the shelter other than people tend to want puppies at Christmas.

I wasn't going to get another dog. Chaos, they don't fit in the car easily, vet bills, boarding, etc. I was hoping this one would engage with Guidry, but it looks like this one and the cocker spaniel like each other. Go figure.

iPhone pic.

After an almost 2 mile walk, she started terrorizing the house. I took her out back where she ran full-speed all over the yard until she exhausted herself. :unconscious:
