So near and yet so far

We have a 16 week old male tabby kitten named Pepper. He is a bundle of energy and as mischievous as a kitten can get. I put birdseed and sunflower seeds on the deck railing each morning for the birds, though the squirrels wind up getting a good bit of it. I always put a big pile right outside the window were we have the "Kitty Crack House", their climbing thing where I put catnip ("kitty crack") all the time. The kitten was resting on it this morning when one of the squirrels came up and was munching on the seeds. The kitten completely lost his mind. He got way down, started chattering, whipping his tail and laid back his ears. He was hilarious. I get the impression that the squirrels have come to realize there is glass between them so they are not threatened at all. I am sure they can see the cats and probably get a kick out of driving them crazy.

This was just too good to pass up so I grabbed the camera.

Tree rats are smart and resourceful little creatures!

Use to get mad at them.... now I've learned that it is best to feed them.. .and they will let the birds feed too.
NO matter what you do.. they will find a way to get the food.

If I don't serve peanuts... they will find a way to get the peanuts out of this Acord.. even if it means falling 100 times.
