My Dream Job!

Hey Amigos!

In a truly amazing turn of events, I have landed my dream job. I am the wildlife photographer for The Sanctuary at San Basilio in Baja California Sur. San Basilio Google Earth.jpg

The Sanctuary encompasses over 25,000 acres, 5 miles of coastline, 5 beaches and some of the most incredible views anywhere.

The property includes 3 working ranches preserving traditional Baja ranch life and a single house built by Spanish royalty back in the 1990's. There are few roads so I'll be doing most of my work from mule, panga, or on foot.

I just had to tell someone that would truly appreciate the special gift I have been given.
Thanks!

Congratulations, Chris! That definitely sounds like a dream job that many of us would love to have. I hope you will be able to share some of the images, but I know you might have some type of agreement with them that restricts your own usage.

So your 200-400mm lens should get a workout - and your investment will definitely pay off. Question for you - the EXIF data lists a 17-50mm lens. Curious which manufacturer made it.

Have fun and enjoy! :)

I guess now you will have to change your status to "pro" because you are now employed as a photographer!

Congrats again!

No issue sharing images. We have agreed on equal and full rights to the images I take "on the clock".

The 17-50 is a Sigma. I mostly use the 200-400 for blind work. Luckily, I am provided a monthly budget for equipment and infrastructure. Let the blind building begin!
