I have a few that I'd consider to be my best (and also my first time photographing those subjects). But if I had to narrow it down to one, it is this one.

Here's looking at you, kid.

Lol. Like practically everyone else, I don't think this is my "best" shot. But considering what I had to go through to get this, it's my favorite:

how do you get color tones like that? this one of many post-processing tricks i've been trying to figure out...
Well there are probably as many answers to that question as there are photographers, but generally speaking my go-to is Photoshop's Curves Adjustment Tool and, more specifically, applying Curves in individual color channels. If you'd like me to elaborate, I'd be happy to but we should probably move that conversation to its own thread.

I can't really say I have one favorite, but photographing Burrowing Owls was probably the most fun I had last year.

Great shot, Woody! :encouragement:

I have yet to even see an owl although they are around. During the summer nights, I'd even hear their hoots but could never determine from where they came. And I live in the suburbs!

I haven't done as much photography in 2019 as I would like, as it's been a really tough year (6.4 and 7.1 earthquakes here in Ridgecrest, CA), but this is my favorite one.

Welcome! I love that picture - the horizontal line of the feather being preened absolutely makes it. Great shot!

I hope 2020 is less groundshaking for you than 2019 was. :)
