Remember to change your EXF year date to 2019

Remember to change your EXF year date to 2019
Be sure and change ALL of your cameras. I also changed the DSC in front of my file number to represent the camera the photo was shot with. Instead of DSC_1456 it now reads 500_1456. I changed each camera so now I can easily tell which camera the photo was taken with.

Look under photo shooting menu, then go to file naming to change this.

I also change the dates in ViewNX2, which I use to ingest images.

This is a great idea! Sometimes I use 2 bodies during Worship then wind up labeling the folders with the body's names. This is an even better way to identify the files. Thanks!

I'm confused... I just checked my cameras and they all automatically adjust/change the dates and time once set... Same with my software... it all gets the time/date off my internet connections...

Why are ya'll changing dates/times??????? My D200 was released in 2005... I assume all Nikon cameras have been changing their calendars/clocks since at least that time???????

    What am I missing?????

Do you have copyright info listed in your camera? Mine includes my name along with the year. That info gets applied as EXIF data.

Many Nikon DSLRs allow you to put copyright data into the EXIF file. This can include the year and your name. It's not the same as 'Date Taken".

No... I have that all turned OFF in the cameras... I have that all set by Lightroom. It's much easier to set, along with a lot more info than the camera allows...

All my images get Imported for cataloging and they inherit the Lightroom EXIF.

As mentioned, the "date taken by" will change automatically but I have "Copyright by Jeff Impey and the year" in the comment section of every picture I take and that has to be changed manually. If you don't do that then you don't need to worry about it.

It's easy to change in the D500 with the touch screen.

I don't remember how to edit the info in the D7100. I know I did it last year w/o deleting and starting over. Any one remember how to edit it?

Edit: Found it - D5100 move the rear dial to the 8, hit the trash can and add 9.
D7100 Hold the ISO button, move the rear dial to the 8, hit the trash can and add 9
