Yesterday I was at the King of Prussia Mall where Santa was already greeting the children. I could kick myself for not taking any pics of their set-up/gear. They used some type of Canon body (might have been mirrorless since it was a small body). There was one strobe bounced into a silver umbrella, and everything was tethered. At the end of the display was a kiosk where people could then see and purchase their images.
The thing is I don't remember the strobe firing.
When I see the pics of my great nephew, I'll have a better idea whether or not one was used.
If you are out and about this holiday season, please consider taking a cell phone image of any Santa set-ups (specifically the gear used...not the Santa's themselves). How often do we get to actually see photography gear and lighting being used by others? :shame:
