It is with a heavy heart that I share this from Don's wife Gloria.

In case you haven’t heard, my husband Don Kuykendall passed away early Saturday morning from a heart attack. Arrangements are a graveside memorial 2 pm Tuesday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park; then visitation 6 pm at First Baptist Church of Prattville. In lieu of flowers, my children and I request donations to Gideons, Homes for Our Troops, or Habitat for Humanity.

I shared the link to this thread with his wife.

Wow!! I just read about this on FB a few minutes ago. I am totally shocked. I knew he wasn't feeling well because of his legs. I'm glad some of us got to see him earlier this year at the meet and greet in Florida. Just soo sad!:(

Oh WOW! I just saw this on FB and immediately came here... so hoping it was not true... Alas, it is true and Don has left us... I am so saddened by this, my wife and I were blessed to have met Don on one of our trips to Texas. Don had met us for lunch on our way through the area. Don was a mentor and friend to many of us on this forum and things will not be the same...

Our thoughts are with Gloria at this time and are so saddened by her loss.

Much Respect,

Pat McGhie in Savannah

Wow, he seemed like he was doing so well with his legs. Glad I got to meet and spend time with him and Gloria. We will keep them and their family will be in our daily prayers.

I'm not on FB, so I cannot access the link.

It's a very sad day four Nikonites to loose such a great moderator. I'm glad I was able to meet Don and Gloria last winter for the meeting in Florida.

My condolences to Gloria and her children.

RIP Don...

I am stunned and deeply saddened to hear this. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Don, we shared several PM's here as well as on Facebook. He was a topnotch Nikonites moderator but more importantly was a great man with a huge heart. To Gloria and his family, I am so sorry for your loss. He touched my life without ever meeting him so I know the loss is great for you and for those who have met him in person. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time.

Thoughts and prayers to Don's family.

Although I never got to meet Don, we also shared some PM's and he provided some great advice.

From my experiences he was always happy to help everyone on the forum.

Deeply, deeply saddened to hear this. Could always count on Don to chip in with friendly and useful advice for any question, no matter how trivial. He will be greatly missed.
