Nikon D5's in Space

I watched a really interesting video from FroKnowsPhoto. He interviewed an astronaut that does photography in space for both science and the sheer awe of it. The one part I chucked about is we all have read or asked questions about our equipment in the cold. SPOILER, STOP READING! Apparently they take the D5's out into space.

Yeah, it seems that Nikon has always been NASA's go-to brand for cameras to bring into space. So, I guess there's still some star power left in the brand. :p

Same in the U.S. Air Force, long history with Nikon.
A local college seems to have Nikon equipment for use by its photography students. Though I'd be surprised if that was the only brand that they had.
