Cheltenham scenes

I was in Cheltenham this afternoon with a fellow photographer who was due to collect his Panasonic Leica 100-400mm lens after it had been back following dust issues - alas the supposed new lens replacement also had dust issue so back it goes!!!

We took a little time to walk around and grab some street shots as well and were eventually defeated by torrential rain.

The D500 did a stirling job as usual and I restricted myself to just the 50mm f1.8 - great combo for street work.

Lovely street scenes,it was the 100-400 that made me leave m4/3,mine developed a very bad headache Panasonic said straight away on inspection they would replace it,after 5 weeks still no lens, the gear is great but they need to sort out the back up.

Thanks Mike,

I had bad experiences with my two Fuji's that in turn led me to trade them in and go back to Nikon - absolutely no regrets.

There must be some questions to answer regarding quality control in both Panasonic & Fuji manufacturing as well as repair and as good as the cameras are and my enjoyment of them they just did not meet my requirements for sport / wildlife / airshows but were perfect for street and documentary but alas I had to let them go (still have the X100s and X70 that I will keep).

I just hope Nikon maintain their high standards and quality control as well as a UK repair centre ............just in case!

I do understand there is no Nikon Field Sales Rep in the UK anymore but not sure?

Very nice! We were near Cheltenham last February but I never saw any of those areas. We stayed outside of town at Ellenborough Park and did a lot of country walking. We did go into town to have dinner at Lumiere, but honestly the dinner at Ellenborough was the best meal of the whole London/Cotswolds trip.

The phone booth gives cash? That's great.

BTW when my husband saw the phone booth he said "Tardis".
