The 2017 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon reception was held earlier this afternoon. I found out I had all four of my entries accepted this year..... 3 of which garnered an award.

I was one of only two contributors who had all four accepted this year.

Congratulations on a job well done. Several years ago (during the film era) I was going to enter one of my photos in the local fair, so I called to ask them how to enter. This black and white photo of the General Grant tree had required significant dodging and burning in on the enlarger and as a result was pretty much a one of a kind photo. They said I needed to send in 4 copies of my Photo. I was flabbergasted. I asked them if the painters had to enter four copies of their paintings. When they said no, of course not. I said thank you, but I am not interested in submitting a snapshot into your photo contest.

looks like there were multiple categories. were there prizes for each individual category and an overall 'Best in Show' prize as well??
only asking because my local fair (Durham, CT) allows 2 entries among 3 categories (Mono, Color, image artistry) and anybody can enter. they set it up so photographers of all skill levels can participate.
personally i've won ribbons twice before within the categories i entered but never the best in show. i'm hoping to change that this year.

There's at least 2 dozen categories, spread out among adult and youth, black & white and color, best of show.........

I really dig the "Ten Tracks" image. Bummer that it didn't win anything, but then again ... I guess they had to let someone else win at least one award. ;)
