Shot at the local 4th July parade in Temecula California.

First of all what drew me to this shot was the tripod (very basic) and the guy was bent over, looked very uncomfortable to me.

but if you look closer there are two cameras on the tripod.

he always had to hold the metal plates, the movement i could see was pretty visible, it didn't look like he was locking it down at all?

Why 2 cameras, anyone know?? i should have stopped and ask him. I guess it must work for him?

BTW, i still have a tripod like this for my camcorder.

My first guess is that he is attempting stereo photography. As long as the mount to the plate is rigid and the cameras are aimed and fired properly, it could work.

The question I have is why he is using those camera straps?

You live in Temecula? I just spent the month of June in San Clemente and made several trips inland to the San Diego Safari Park zoo, which is close to you.

Hey, were you the guy with the D500 at the gorillas?

Maybe one was doing video and one photos? I sometimes put a GoPro on my hot shoe to do simultaneous video/photos
