Interesting question........

Which eye do you use to peer through the viewfinder and does it match your "handedness"?

I am right handed, though decidedly ambidextrous after over 45 years of playing the drums but i use my left eye to peer through the viewfinder. I also shoot pistols with my left eye but rifles and shotguns with my right.

Left hand and left eye however it doesnt matter to me, I cannot shoot with glasses on, I have tried changing the diopter etc however just cant do it. So I tend to be seeing shapes more than details so it wouldnt matter to me :)

Bummer! Have you tried to learn with your glasses on. Before I had cataract surgery, I used to shoot with my glasses on all the time. Now I shoot without glasses, but can't read the top or rear display without my readers. If I wear my readers, then the viewfinder is hopeless. Wish Nikon would develop a dual diopter to I could switch quickly between with and without glasses.

Right-handed, but left eye goes to the viewfinder. It allows me to make more sense of the world when I shoot with both eyes open.

Interesting thought. How many of you that are right handed and use the left eye shoot a gun. And if so, which eye to you use to aim the gun?

My dad uses his left eye. He said it was always stronger than his right eye so he learned at a young age to shoot left-handed. Everything else is right-handed.

Ive tried shooting with my glasses on however like snooker/pool players I kind of look down then into the viewfinder so I dont see through my glasses.

I can make people and smiles etc so its not too bad its just my long range that isnt great so it. I have adapted to it, I have been thinking of looking into laser eye surgery soon :)

Right handed... left eye... but I also have an artificial right eye... so right eye not an option... and same with shooting guns/rifles.

I am very much right-handed and right-eyed.

I use my right eye exclusively when looking through my camera, my microscope, my telescope, the sights of my rifles, or any other one-eyed device.

Right handed, but left eye dominant. Being a (former) drummer, my feet are ambidextrous however. :)

Me too and still banging around in my basement/studio. Fancy myself as a half-assed artistic type. Oz
