Tips and recommendations for Walt Disney World

I have been to WDW several times before but this will be our first trip during the flower festival so I am looking for any tips or suggestions for our trip on the 29th of this month. We will be at WDW 6 days. My wife and I are going and we have reservations for another 6 days the week after Christmas when we will be taking the kids and grandkids down. I plan on taking my D500 with a Sigma 17-50 F2.8 lens for shooting along with my Iphone plus for some video. It has been my experience that this lens will cover almost all the shots that I take while i am down there. Getting wide enough is more of a problem than shooting longer. Thanks for any suggestions that you may have.

Your original posting really covered all the bases. Good camera, good lens if you really don't need more than 50mm. The only thing I might question is why the Iphone for video rather than the D500?

I am going to try both the camera and the iphone while I am there. Video is a whole different thing from shooting stills I have been out practicing and I have not been doing a very good job with video on my D500 or the Iphone. I think that I will be doing more video in the late afternoon and evening when I can see the LCD screens better without the sun giving me problems seeing the screen. Video is a little more challenging than I thought it would be. The wind seems like it is going to be a BIG problem with noise and the focusing without hearing the focusing motor is a problem also.

Sounds like the only thing you think you'll need is a wider lens. Grab a Tokina 11-16mm and stick it in your wife's purse, in case you need it.
Personally the 17mm would be wide enough for me.

I have been to WDW before and shot everything with my Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 on my D7000 and it did a great job and should do even better on the D500. I researched pictures before I went last time and about 95% to 98% of the pictures I could find on the internet were taken between 18-40mm and I found that to be very accurate for me when I went last time. The video is what seems to be a problem for me. With picture taking everything is just automatic with my hands and the controls but the video is just not that way yet. I am sure as I do more of it I will get better but as of right now my video skills are really bad. We will find out at the end of the month when I spend six days at Disney. I just don't want to come home without having some video worth watching.
