    Name Those Drums

    Post your musical instruments.
See if you can name these drums. I used to prefer vintage drums. Still have a few pieces left. I'll probably sell them.

    Re: Post your musical instruments.

I've done the same. Retired from playing out after nearly 40 years. Now it's just occasional work as a hired gun in the studio. Much more relaxing. Sold everything except 3 basses to fund this hobby. I love having my weekends all to myself and my family.

    Re: Post your musical instruments.

After music being my life's work for 45+ years I'm finding it really difficult transferring my creative energy to photography. It's a little different starting out when you're older as opposed to being a boy and having the time to woodshed and pay your dues. As my health deteriorates I need to try and learn as quickly as possible so I can at least create some decent work. It can be extremely frustrating.

A natural lefty, or you just set up left hand dominate for fun?

On the bottom picture with all the snares, is that a natural skin head on the kick, or one of the synthetic skins?

A natural lefty...And that particular bass head is a Remo Fiberskin synthetic, which I switched out once I could find a real calf head. Plastic heads had not been invented when that drum was made back in the '40's
