Completed my first event photo shoot

I volunteer for a local animal rescue group and spent the afternoon shooting a recent fundraiser.

D7100 & Tamron 17-50 f2.8

Interested in any feedback. What I did right? What can I change for next time?

Nice work. Maybe some fill flash might have helped on a few of the shots.

Another vote for fill flash , otherwise they look great!

Nice work! Personally, I like close-ups "from a distance", which means you need a longer lens to get some great candids of individuals in the group. The dog close-up is great!

I did have my SB-700 with me and did not think about fill outside as it was a sunny day. It would have helped with shadows outdoors.

Indoors, I liked the results. Very high cathedral ceilings ruled out bounce, but I can see where a modified light would have helped indoors as well.

Thanks. Being I was supposed to be there capturing the event and had people stop and do a quick pose I think the focal length did the job. I did have the 85mm in the bag but ended up not using it.

It was one of our first cold days of the fall, but the sun was shining
