Post your FAVORITE photo to date.

All of us have that one photo that moves us like no other that we have taken. It may be because of the beauty of the scene, the emotional content or perhaps the circumstances surrounding the image. Whatever the reason, post your favorite, before you find another favorite. Now for the tough part. Tell us WHY!
    I'll start.

Many here know about my heart attack and the subsequent surgery. What no-one knows is how close I came to giving up photography altogether.
This was my first shoot that I took after I got out of the hospital. I had been out for just over a month, when my best half and I took a trip to Vermont. I had to climb down a very slippery slope to get the angle that I wanted. My wife was PISSED!
But after this, I knew that I was going to continue. It kinda gave me something to live for.

    Pete

great story behind your photo Pete. It's a great shot!

    Here's mine:

    ISO: 400
    Exposure: 1/60 sec
    Aperture: 8.0
    Focal Length: 10mm

This was literally my first glimpse of the oculus of the Pantheon in Rome. It's stunning in person and I was very happy to see the photo turned out great. It only required minimal editing. Standing in the middle of the doorway while many people were going in and out was a little difficult; to line up the shop, and to hold the camera steady. Luckily I brought along my 10mm lens - it worked great for shots such as this.

This was the photo taken this summer with my husband and daughter as they were playing in our backyard. I decided after this photo to start looking into photos for other people and try my had at my own business.

I also love this photo because it was one of the few time my husband was able to come home. He's in the Canadian Forces, still in training for a trade (at the time of the pic, supply tech- he's now in line for weapons tech). The base he's currently at is 8 hours from where we are and it's expensive to come home, so he can pretty much come home only once a month. This was taken after being gone for over a month and I was about 6 months pregnant at the time. I loved watching him enjoying his daughter and seeing her smile as she finally got some daddy time.

man, almost makes me tear up now lol

Boy, this is a tough one because I have so many photos that are my favourite, but for different reasons. I would have to say this one of my son playing at the beach is my favourite right now, in terms of really having a deep meaning for me. It reminds me of what is really important in life “Family ;-)

Picking a favourite photo is like picking a favourite strand of spaghetti! Pretty hard to do, eh!
Right now, this is my favourite, my niece playing softball. Her mother sent me this photo.

    A little gem of Innocence

Post your FAVORITE photo to date.-4248429702_7b7cedc648_z.jpg

While waiting for our models prepare on a location shoot. I happen to chance upon this little
girl curious on what we are doing. I immediately took some shots of her candidly. After I took some pics, I called her and asked her if she had eaten already. Street children like her seldom
eat 3 times a day in the Philippines. I gave her some of our food that we brought along and
some change ( the coin on her hand).

I named this picture " A little gem of Innocence"
This picture won 1st place last year in a photo competition about Urban Neglect.

Not one of those "Great Shots" but has a special meaning to it.

This is a picture of one of my stepchildren, his name is Tyler he just graduated from Six grade to seventh in this photo. He is holding his certificate for making Honor Roll for 3 quarters (in a row) Now what makes Tyler and this photo so special is Tyler has "Lebers" along with "Retinitis Pigementosa" which has made him legally blind with an eye sight of 10/400. He watches TV 12 inches from the screen to see it. Everything he looks at has to be 6 inches or closer for him to see it with one eye. Three years ago he was in a special ed class for vision impaired children that did not challenge him, but at that time he did start to read and write Braille. After we relocated out to the country we found out that our school district did not have any kind of special Ed classes for Tyler, and we would have no choice but to put him into a main stream classroom and he would have the help of a full time Aid. Well here he is two years later sitting on the Honor Roll 3 times. A lot of students and some parents have said the only reason he made the Honor roll was because the Aid was giving him the answers. This year because of budgets cuts Tyler lost his Aid and now must do all his work on his own and all his work comes to him now in Braille. To a lot of people surprise he has made Honor roll both quarters this year and is working on making it six times now for the third quarter. Simply amazing for a student who three years ago was playing with preschool toys in a class room to a student who is now competing in the Illinois Braille Challenge to see how many pages of Braille he can read. Right now he has read 220 pages of Braille in one month.
