Hi botyok, welcome to the forum.

What lenses have you got already? I think that for what you are looking for, you'll need a fast pro lens. Either a 70-200 2.8 or a 85 1.4 or a 50 1.4, depending on what your definition of portrait is and what are your normal shooting conditions (read distances from your subjects).

thanks Marcel, i have a 70-300mm f/4-5,6 and a 18-55mm, i am shooting regularly with my family and occasionaly my friends at a party, i am just disapointed with these lenses specially flashes are prohibited during nightime photgraphs,

thanks for your input, i see the 50mm 1,4 is a spot on lens for me, will this be a big diff, on the 1,8 version?

Well there is a price difference… and you'll get a little more "bokeh" (the nice out of focus stuff you want) out of the 1.4. But I've read that the 1.8 is the bargain one to get. The 1.4 might not be worth the difference since at 1.4 the depth of field is so small you won't use it that much. Mileage can vary.
