Af-s dx nikkor 18-140mm f3.5-5.6g ed vr high pitch noise

I had a 18-140mm lens bought from grey market and was working perfect. I send it back when I realised I wouldn't be covered by nikon warranty and bought a new one from ad. When first mounted on my d7500 lens was focusing perfectly but with a high pitch noise. The AD gave me another new one that also made a high pitch noise but less frequently than the first one. AD told me this is normal and I have nothing to worry about. The lens is focusing perfectly.
Should I keep the lens or send the lens for service cc it is only two days old?
Please advise

It may be that you are hearing the noise made by the VR mechanism. Try to turn it off to see if it stops.

No it is not the vr definitely. And as mentioned before my first 18 140mm lens from grey market didn't made that high pitch noise at all. The noise comes out when focusing near and then trying to focus far. It is a squeaky noise like something metal rubs to metal.

My partner and I have had and shot with that lens for a long time. In our experience the VR motor emits only a tiny, almost inaudible, hum when it kicks in. In my opinion what you are describing is NOT normal and will say again, I think the lens should be returned and you should shop somewhere else. The fact that this is the second lens you've had with the same issue makes me wonder if they simply sent you the same copy you bought the first time or if they received a bad batch of 18-140's. Either way, I say it's time to move on.

Good luck!

I went to nikon service and they admitted there is a problem.
I am waiting for the inspection results.
For sure I won't buy anything from that dealer again.
It is not fair to tell lies to someone that is not experienced.

And the verdict is YES faulty focus mechanism, direct from the shelf of the shop. So I paid and bought the new 18-140 mm lens faulty and went to meet the Greek nikon guys to fix it.
This is called quality control made by the customer.
