AF mount to AFP mount...help!?!

Hi! My boyfriend just updated my oldschool D3100 to the newer D3400. He also bought me a couple of lenses...(nice guy, right!?) plus I had a growing collection of my own... However, the lenses he purchased, as well as my older lenses, are the AF mount style (they work great with the 3100), but do not work with the 3400, I noticed the AF-P Mount has an 8th contact point... Does anyone know of a mount adapter I can buy to use my AF style lenses with my new camera? or some sort of super-brilliant hack I can do to get the lens to register on the camera? I grew up shooting exclusively film, and am ok with adjusting the lens itself, however I have grown quite accustomed to my in viewfinder light meter... :p

Any and all suggestions/help are super-mega appreciated!
Thank you!

First off welcome to the forum. What do the older lens no do? This is from Nikon

This camera supports autofocus with AF-P and type E and G AF-S lenses only.
AF NIKKOR for F3AF not supported.
AI-P NIKKOR: All Functions supported except autofocus and 3D Color Matrix Metering II.
Electronic rangefinder can be used if Maximum Aperture is f/5.6 or Faster.
IX NIKKOR lenses cannot be used.
Non-CPU: Autofocus not supported. Can be used in mode M, but exposure meter does not function.
Other AF NIKKOR: All Functions Supported Except 3D Color Matrix Metering II.
Type D PC NIKKOR: All Functions Supported Except Autofocus and some Shooting Modes.
Type G or D AF NIKKOR not equipped with an autofocus motor: all functions supported except autofocus.

According to this the AF-S lenses you got with your D3100 should work just fine

there are a lot of AF type lenses. Which ones do you have?

What we really need to know is the exact nomenclature for each of the lenses you have. This information is on the lens-barrel and will look something like one of these examples:
