It should work fine with both cameras. The only culprit is that this lens focus makes the front element (filter) rotate when it does focus. This is only a problem when using a polarizing filter since refocusing could change the polarizing effect. The lens is not too heavy and fairly sharp. For that price, how could you go wrong?

It doesn't have a focus motor, but my D90 always worked with lenses lacking the motors. Although lacking the focus motor, it's one less thing that won't break since it doesn't have one. ;)

On a DX body, your field of view will be about 50mm-150mm. An advantage is that at the tele- end, your widest aperture will be f/4.5 which is pretty decent especially for the price!

BUT when checking the price of sold listings on ebay, it's a tad high. Keh.com has a similar lens for $99. What I question is Keh lists the lens as a macro so not sure if Keh's lens is exactly the same. https://www.keh.com/shop/nikon-35-105mm-f-3-5-4-5-macro-early-autofocus-lens-52.html

Adorama is an excellent company to deal with so you shouldn't have any problems. Factor in any shipping costs and see if one winds up being a better price than the other. And maybe call Adorama to find out if their lens offers macro. It wouldn't be a true 1:1 macro, but if it allows macro, it would be fun to play with.

yes both camera works well on both camera. But if you are in a tight spot or room IMHO nikkor 18-105mm G ED VR works better. If not slightly.
Be reminded of the crop factor of 1.5 ... that 35mm will have a crop factor of 52.5mm unlike 18mm its 27mm.
This lens helps whenever you shooting indoors. it even has VR II ...

just my 1 cent ... hope this helps ... :)
