Hi,
I'm very new to photography. I've got a D5200 with the Nikon 18-55mm kit and also have a Tamron 70-300mm.

My father in law had a OM-2n SLR and dug the lenses out for me he has some wide angle lenses etc he says if I can get An adapter it would save me a little in the short term and also allow me to spore it aperture settings etc..

I've seen on Amazon & eBay selling these adapters but I'm not sure if they're any good. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on it ?

First off welcome to the forum. I also have a Olympus OM 2n and many lenses. Been shooting Nikon DSLRs for a while but I did look into adapters in the beginning. The lenses have to be physically modified along with the adapter to work. When you get through IF it works you would still have a fully manual lens with no electronics for exposure or focus confirmation.

Save your money for good Nikon lenses. The adapter route is not worth the money or effort.

A friend asked me about adapting lenses of a different camera make. I told him to check what the lenses are worth. If it's a cheap lens, just sell it. And if the lens is worth good money.... "just sell it!".

You have a nice modern camera there. I don't think it would be an enjoyable path to go so totally manual. Welcome to the forum.
