Welcome to the forum,from the picture it looks like a front element,no idea of the cost but it could make you consider a replacement lens is my guess.

Well, first you have to understand that you've asked your question to a Nikon users forum. We are in no way associated to the Nikon company other than using their product.

If you want a real answer to your question, you should contact Nikon service department or a camera repair shop.

I don't know what happened to your lens, but if it was accidental damage you might try contacting your home insurance to see if it could be covered. Maybe it could be...

You might want to add some background on your question so that we can answer more completely. There are a few members here who have done some repairs/modifications to their lenses, but I would expect this to violate the warranty (if it's still in effect) and may end up with a ruined lens, so whether it's advisable or not depends on specific circumstances.
