Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II Lens

I am thinking about getting a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II Lens. Firstly, is it a good lens, secondly, I am a little confused about whether or not I will get 18-55 on my D90. As it seems to be a 'crop' camera does that mean that the lens is actually 27-82.5?

Just remember, with the DX, you only see 90% of the final picture in the viewfinder. I traded my 18-55 for a 18-105 an have a 55-200 and 50mm 1.8. Probably get a teleconverter rather than getting another lens.

The D300 viewfinder has 100% coverage. So does the D7100

Seems every picture I take with my D90, when I view on my computer, there is more picture on the edges than what I saw from the viewfinder. Thought it was due to DX but Isn't D300 Fx and 7100 Dx?

They are both DX cameras.

Consumer-grade bodies frequently have less-than-100% viewfinders; 95% is pretty common.

Actually, I like it because I have a little leeway to save a picture that was a little out of frame. I'll remember your helpful hint when I get my Haselbaad (grin)
