Why hasn't Nikon put GPS in a DSLR camera yet?

It seems like a simple thing to do considering they starting putting GPS in the coolpix cameras. There has to be room inside the DSLR cases, no?

DSLR owners like to accessorize with the add-ons. It makes us look cool to our fellow shutterbugs.

• Tripods
• BMF lenses
• Bags
• Straps
• Grips
• GPS unit

We all aspire to be just like this guy:

All that gear and only one camera that really works

Funny, it's like my smart phone, it is amazing, unless you want to make a simple phone call and then well it is just too darn complicated!! I don't even like video on my cameras, I just want my camera to take great pictures!!

I would like to have built in GPS. I'd be happy to "loose" the video. I'm considering upgrading the wife's Canon S95 to the S100 because it has GPS.

Because Nikon users always KNOW where they are.

It is because Nikon sells an expensive accessory.

No, seriously.......is GPS something you really NEED.......or is it just something you WANT? I mean...come on!

GPS geotagging is optional on all of the latest Nikon DSLRs including the D5000

GPS? I don't need no stinking GPS! (Sorry for the Blazing Saddles reference). Besides...
I always know where I am.

But Mike as somebody who travels a lot for work and pleasure, I like to embed the GPS coordinates in my images.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre actually.

Built in GPS is should surely be standard by now. Add on's are clunky and ugly. Geo tagging is a want and a need and DSLR's without them is like a modern car without electric windows.
