Why would you want to put superb lenses on a inferior body :D just joking as a lead into the question,Nikon lens on a sony body, can you post it on here as a Nikon image:confused:

At this moment the story evolved, you need to foresee a A7RII (with hybrid AF system) all the rest is not really discussed for the moment:
- Commlite ENF-E with software 2 release seems to perform strangely from the example videos and feedback
- a competitor limits himself to AF-S lenses and seems to do great, but not commercialized at the moment

I never expect a Nikon AF performance, but a usable one from these adaptors. At this moment I took it off my budget, will use Sony/Minolta AF lenses when I need AF.

Re: Nikkor AF on Sony E mount arrived

If I'm mounting nikon lenses on a camera it will be a Nikon body. Adapting lenses on a Sony A7 series body is not what it's cracked up to be. Trust me, went there and now I'm back to Nikon.

Well the Canons work quite well now on a Sony body :)

Im looking at this with great interest as I want to add a mirrorless into my bag !!

They work ok, depends on what lenses you want to adapt. AF is very slow. Even the Sony LA-EA4 autofocus adapter that totally changes the focusing system isn't that great in low light.
What Sony mirrorless are you considering? I'm not one to have more than one system in my bag so it was either all out Sony Full Frame or all out Nikon Full Frame. Sony just doesn't have the lens choices I need. The a6000 is a sweet camera though if you don't mind the body form

To start with I was looking at the A6000 to add to the bag as a second camera, but I would like the A7Rii, realistically I will probably settle on putting an A7ii in the bag, I have been close to Selling up and moving to Sony for a while, A lot of the features that are on the Body I want and cant get on a Nikon, the only reason like you say is the lenses that have been holding me back.

Re: Nikkor AF on Sony E mount arrived

I've decided to wait and move to mirrorless when there is a full solid system available. I liked the technology of the cameras and size was nice but just to many little things like Autofocus speed, lens availability, cost of lenses and speed of lenses. Can't find any used which I like to do. Also I found the grip too small when wearing gloves in winter. But hey that's just me. Other than that the system was sweet.

I seem to hear this a lot. However using one since a week, I do not feel the same. Again maybe not as great performing as a D750, D5 & D500, but sufficient for me. I take very few pictures at -3EV or -4EV, it is not the situation I generally find my subject. Taking action pictures (fast focus needed) in darkness still requires IR or other special techniques, the rest is dreaming.

Re: Nikkor AF on Sony E mount arrived

My experience come from out in -25C weather in very overcast winter conditions and a low lit wedding where every shot rook a couple seconds just to focus and I totally missed shots, yes it may only happen once and a while but where I live we get that weather quite often and I'm in low light very often, And it's either out in those conditions shooting or sitting at home on my butt playing with the Sony menus or whatever. To be honest I'd rather be out shooting with something I know will work 95% of the time instead of 70%. There is a huge difference yet with the capabilities of sony mirrorless and a Nikon DSLR. I'm not saying they aren't any good, but there is a big difference in performance. And no this is not dreamed up. I've done it, been frustrated and seen it with my own eyes.

It is all about finding what works for you, Its not about being a Nikon, Canon or Sony etc user its about what works to get the results you are wanting to achieve :)

No matter how enthusiast Sony fanboys are, I have the same experience as you. Focus takes time with these systems in low light.
My D7000 + 50mm AF-S is a complete different league in focus speed.
